Welcome to the AMVETS, Department of Alabama. Membership in AMVETS is open to any honorably discharged veteran and to any active duty/Guard or Reserve member of any branch of the United States Armed Forces. The Department of Alabama is currently taking applications for Post Charters in Alabama.  A Charter Application for a new post involves a seven step process, before AMVETS National Headquarters will grant a charter to a new post. The AMVETS is the fourth largest service organization in the world.
